TweetDeck causes everything to grind to a halt on my PC. I don’t have the newest of PCs so I’m on the look out for alternatives possibly web based.

I have been using Tweekdeck for a few months without any problems but when I tried to install the update it caused a BSOD. I uninstalled the old version and uninstalled my AV software but nothing seems to work. Every time I try to install I get a BSOD. Any ideas??

Running on Vista Business 32bit.

I’d suggest starting your laptop in safemode and troubleshooting from there.

I don’t believe it should have any fatal consequences, cos it’s just an Adobe AIR app.

Using Twitter in FF only lets you follow up to 10-20 people effectively, so you’ve still made the right choice.

You might also like to run an anti-spyware/anti-virus prog to see if your other surfing has affected the system.

I started TweetDeck, TweetDeck was the only thing running in front, it crashed and my laptop will not start again! Any help greatly appreciated. First crash for the laptop, btw. I wish I had kept Twitter in FF…

I love TweetDeck, but sometimes it freezes for about 10 sec and you can’t do anything with it. When you are multitasking and you have respond a tweet quickly and switch to another thing it drives my nuts.

I had done a similar post last month, after leaving my tweetdeck open for 12 hours it had consumed 400mb of ram on me. The program keeps so many “Follower History” it never has a limit.

The new version you can actually specify a limit, which should keep ram utilization down when you leave it open.

I am seeing the same thing. I love TweetDeck but it has definitely made a negative difference on my computer performance.

Wow, that’s quite the excessive load on your system resources. I just started using TweetDeck, but haven’t come across that problem. Probably because I shut it down during the night.

Andrew like you I so dig the Tweetdeck, the expanded functionality it offers makes it the perfect twitter resource.

However and it’s a big however.

I’m absolutely convinced it skips loads of tweets and combined with the resource hogging, I find myself looking for alternatives.
