I have just created a LinkedIn account and we’ll have to see where it goes. I also took your advice and created a new group in LinkedIn called “Trade Show Help” to try and get people that are interested in exhibiting at trade shows together for group discussions on where this marketing channel is evolving to.

I think your network quaility is somewhat like link quality on a website.

You need to look at quantity, but I think quality is even more important.

The problem is that if you’re going on LinkedIn to make friends with lost schoolmates, I think the site has lost its focus and is in danger of being a flop…

I’ve found LinkedIn to be very good to me. I’ve never been pinged or contacted for so many side jobs and contract work before. So this is a definite plus in my book. Head hunters are extremely active on there, that’s for sure.

As what you have rightly mentuioned, Linkedln is good for you to look up for lost friends or former colleagues or former classmates. Anyhow, I do notice that Linkedln is improving their functions progressively. We just need to be patience a bit
