that explains why my simple 1-page content site with 9 links ranks better than the other with 58 links.It was obvious that “Usefulness” to the user is a great factor in SEPRs

I myself have found that simply built sites in straight forward html perform much better in the serps, the only thing they need is plenty of relevant content, basic SEO principles, regular updating and a reasonable amount of relevant backlinks.
