The Internet Marketing Landscape in China? December 21, 2007

I’m filing this blog post from Guangzhou, China, which is on one of China’s coasts, and is pretty urbanized.

In case your mental picture of China looks like this:

Can Internet Marketers thrive in China?

The challenge for newly developed and developing countries is one of protecting intellectual property and copyright.

If you’re a web-based service, the challenge will be higher, but there’s lots of room for merchants and affiliate networks, especially if they are willing to do language conversion to the double-byte Chinese language.

The lesson here is this:

I was about to move to China when I found that tons of sites are banned there and some of my contacts reported that internet connection is horrible there. So I bailed out.

I love china… went there are a traveler… not for money…. right out to Xinjiang and the Karakorum highway (feels like you are 50 years in the past at best of times)…. its really awesome… have you got any good SEO/Affiliate marketing chinese blogs you could recommend? (In mando)
