Just Launched Website Monetization Service Via Product Placement February 14, 2008

I got an email from Tino Buntic (right), founder of the 2000 Bloggers project which went pretty viral last year that he’s just launched PlaceMyProduct.com.
PlaceMyProduct is a product placement service where advertisers will bid auction-style to buy adspace on your website.
Canada-based Tino has assembled a team to help with the project and it launched on January 28th, 2008.
There is a product placement marketplace where site owners can list advertising space on their website for sale:

How Do You Protect Advertisers From Fraud?
There are two ways that we protect advertisers from fraud.
From the PlaceMyProduct website:
First, PlaceMyProduct.com holds all payments as collateral until the Product Placer completes his or her duties. They notify us when they have performed their duties and, in turn, we notify you. At this point, you have 48 hours to stop payment if there is a dispute or disagreement and we will hold on to your funds until such dispute is moderated by us before making any final payment to the Product Placer or giving you, the advertiser, a full refund.
Second, PlaceMyProduct.com has a client rating and feedback feature that lets advertisers rate and provide public feedback for our Product Placers. Our Product Placers will work to get a good rating so that they can secure more business in the future. A good rating will bring more future clients, so it’s in there best interest to do a good job for you, the advertiser.

Besides the typical text and graphic/banner type placements, PlaceMyProduct also allows you to auction

You can specify the product placement duration too from one-week, a month-long ad, or on a permanent basis.
