I'm not perfect in it but the idea is to have a good launch and then a viral growth, so promotion is done by affiliates. There are of course support issues and the work you have to do before launch but you can outsource this work if the income allows it. I'm not saying that I'm already at this point and I'm not sure if I would do it... but if you have a steady viral growth and therefore a monthly income, then you can pay people to manage your site, just like a big business does. Yeah, I manage about 6 affiliate programs.
