I vote for The Changeling with George C. Scott. Another one: See No Evil with Mia Farrow really scared the heck out of me as a kid. I also like Ghost Story based on the Peter Straub book, but its more creepy than scary.

Help! My friend is having the same problem and would like to re-install Avast now that the update is available, but can’t get on the internet. What should she do?

Me too! I was just surfing alone when avast! popped up a message saying I’d been infected. When I rebooted the computer it went through the welcome screen as normal (Windows XP), then on to the desktop. At that point it was obvious something was wrong. Clicking on desktop icons, nothing happened. Clicking on the Start button, nothing happened. Hover the mouse over the Start button, the hourglass icon came up, then nothing happened. I couldn’t use the computer!

Rebooted in Safe Mode, ran avast! and did a thorough scan. It showed this “Trojan” in every .exe file of programs I had installed. It even showed the “Trojan” in .exe files of software that I had just laying around: programs I’d downloaded but not yet installed!

I panicked at that point, assuming to have been under a massive infection. Formatted both hard drives, repartartioned them, and made a fresh XP installation. Fortunately I’d backed up my data a week or so earlier, so the data loss was not *too* painful. But it was a damn inconvenience because I’ve spent the better part of a day getting the computer back to the way I’d had it before this incident.

I like avast! so I’ll forgive them for this error. But I’m now running with Rising Antivirus, just to be on the safe side – hopefully!

I guess it triggered the warning for anything written in Borland/CodeGear Delphi – at least all my Delphi compiled projects were false positives. Skype is also written in Delphi, so chances are good this is the common factor.

avast Antrivirus felrapporterar Delf-MZG…

För er som använder avast Antivirus vilket jag rekommenderar har troligast fått felrapportering av virus med namnet Delf-MZG Trojan. Filer kan då flyttas till karantän (Chest) och det kan medföra att program inte fungerar.

I had this problem today too. Had to reinstall Windows and as soon as I installed and updated avast – it poped up again. Another reinstallation and another update took care of it. Switching to another product won’t do a lot, though, other antiviruses had those false alarm problems in the past.
To err is human, but if you really want to screw everything up – this requires a computer.

I’m pretty much screwed here! I kept deleting files half the system does not work now. Running in safe mode with network support just to get here.

This is a real pain… I am doing online classes and don’t have time for this nonsense. But apparently I’m going to have to reload the system if I can’t get a restore to work then figure out where all the installation files are.

The new virus data base is in. Avast works fine now. wish i read this before now. I deleted a boo-kuu of stuff.

I’m doing a boot scan and I get “lrs2k4sv.exe [upx] is infected by win32:Delf.-MZG [Trj] file is in the windows folder, are you sure?”

I will cancel out of the scan based on the above posts, and see how much damage the previous deletes caused.

I’m glad Avast realized its problems and took care of it.

I was also skeptical of the “trojan”. My friend’s Skype did not work after she moved the file to chest.
