Post-Affiliate Summit West: Coffee in California Anyone? January 17, 2007

Posted by Andrew Wee in : everything else , trackback

After I finish up at Affiliate Summit West, I’ll be heading off to California where I’ll spend another 3 days in the LA area before heading back to Singapore.

I’m figuring out the best way to check if anyone would like to meet for coffee and chat a little, since my trips to the US tend to be few and far between these days.

If you’re close to the Alhambra area and you’d like to meet up, leave a comment below or use the contact me tab above.

I’d meet up for coffee but California’s a 40 hour drive for me… Too far. Let me know when you’re in the Toronto area.

Tino,
No plans for Canada at this stage.

The 10% sales tax is a killer. (Just kidding).

I’ll keep it in mind the next time I’m headed over.

Hi Andrew,

I will be heading back to Fresno/CA on Tuesday evening (airplane), but that is a 3-4 hours away from L.A. A bit far for a coffee. But I don’t know what your plans are in L.A. If you know somebody there who wants to show you the beautiful sierra Nevada and its most beautiful stretches: Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon, then you will drive by Fresno and could stop for a coffee ;)

I think there are a bunch of people from L.A. at the summit, but most I had contact with are either living in the Bay Area (San Francisco, Silicon Valley (San Jose)) which is 4 hours or so North of L.A. or San Diego which is 2 hours south of L.A. :)

Cheers,
Carsten

Hey Carsten,
Thanks for the tips.

I know Michelle “Badder Adder” MacPhearson’s in the Sierra Nevada area, and it seems like a lot of the people I know are in the Mountain View/Sunnyvale/Menlo Park/Bay area.

Ah well, I’ll see how it goes at ASW.

so how come that you want to go to L.A. then? Don’t say: To see 1. Hollywood Bouleward or 2. meet some Stars in Night Clubs.

1. you probably saw the best of it on TV already and you don’t need to smell for yourself Hollywood Bouleward in the morning before they are done with the big clean up from the night before.

2. Ain’t going to happen and if it does, what then?

Santa Monica is nice, especially the 3rd street promenade and Santa Monica pier. Venice Beach is interesting during the day and not the place to be during the night. Downtown is just tall buildings, empty buildings if you be there in the evening. That’s L.A. (the short tour)

;)

Simple answer: My sister and aunt live in LA.

I saw Martin Scorsese and Survivor winner Colby Donaldson my last trip down.

I’d probably be more Internet Marketing superstar-stuck than than of the silver screen variety this time round.

I’d probably be skulking round the aisles at Fry’s and Best Buy and chowing down somewhere more than the touristy thing.

Or maybe MOMA, or one of the science museums.

I haven’t completely ruled out heading towards the Bay Area yet though.

I am however, looking to get a serious Krispy Kreme fix.
