The Truth Behind Amish Shah’s Magic Bullet System… January 11, 2010

Posted by Andrew Wee in : affiliate marketing , trackback

If you’ve been on any of the make money online “guru” mailing lists, you’d have received a series of warm-up emails for Amish Shah and Jay Style’s Magic Bullet System which launches tomorrow (Monday 11 Jan) and from the preview videos released so far, it looks like an automatic CPA money making system, but is it the reality? Is it all it’s cracked up to be?

Here’s my somewhat insider’s look on the situation.

I was in the same internet marketing mastermind with Amish and Jay about 3 years ago. Then Amish had been working on his Hexatrack PPC management platform which he was using to run his own campaigns. It was brutally effective and he’s come on the calls going into detail about how he’s killed the last offer he’d been promoting.

Fast forward 3 years, and $250,000 later, and some of the core components of Hexatrack have been developed into the Magic Bullet System, which resulted in a $5,000 workshop in California last year with a number of practising top affiliates, copywriters and conversion experts delivering the sessions. The seminar has been productized into the Magic Bullet System which will combine webinar style training, together with the video recordings (about 20+ hours) from the session.

-

What’s been happening thus far?

Amish and Jay have roped in JV broker Mike Merz to round up JV partners and Frank Kern who’s developed quite a reputation for stellar product launches. In case you weren’t aware, Frank has been responsible for kicking off the “Dog Training” training products, tattoo-related products and monetizing a host of other niches.

For those in or familiar with the pick-up artist niche, Frank (together with his cousin/brother-in-law Trey) helped Neil Strauss AKA Style (author of seduction/pick-up bestseller The Game) develop and launch his “Annihilation Method” series of Pick-Up Artist home study course.

Frank has since gone on to work on a couple of other big product launches, including a recent collaboration with John Reese to do a “self-improvement for internet marketers” type of course with motivation expert Tony Robbins.

As with everything Frank has been involved with, the Magic Bullet System looks like it will be a stellar launch, with more than 90,000 leads who have opted in to the prospects list.

One way that Amish has built up the list is by giving away high quality content, in a Frank Kern-style “Mass Control” launch campaign of giving great stuff (like a $200/day smiley central campaign – he shows you how to set it up in Adwords, including the landing pages and keywords) in exchange for opting in to the list.

Will Amish get 500 customers within a few minutes of opening the doors tomorrow? You betcha.

With a ticket price of about $3,000, you might think the $1.5 million payday is the big payout for Amish and Jay. But I don’t think so. Having worked on these launches before, I think Amish and Jay will have a net profit of $600,000 to $750,000 when all is said and done. Which is chump change since they’re already generating 5 to 6 figures consistently each day from promoting CPA offers and their own products.

So where’s the upside?

If you’re considering that they’re both savvy business owners, the Magic Bullet System is a screening/pre-qualification process for new affiliates to their yMultimedia CPA network.

Since getting involved in the CPA industry, I’ve noticed that almost all networks do not do enough to provide training or give ideas to affiliates – which is strange because having your affiliate base perform better will directly impact your networks’ earnings.

The trend has been changing though, with a number of boutique networks (many of which are started by top affiliates) like Convert2Media, EagleWebAssets, Ads4Dough and TriFoxMedia, Revolution202 to name a few.

yMultimedia is taking this a step further by coupling their offer database with the Magic Bullet System which has offer/keyword research, set-up and optimization capabilities similar to other PPC management solutions which cost $20,000/month and upwards to lease each month.

And savvy CPA network owners already know that you don’t need 50,000 affiliates to be a roaring success. If you have 50 top affiliates who are consistently promoting your offers, you’re good as gold. In fact, the top 10 affiliates at some networks are responsible for 80-90% of their revenue.

If anything, launching the Magic Bullet System at this time is an aggressive step for Amish and Jay to pre-qualify, recruit and train what’s likely to be a formidable affiliate army.

You can check out the free training Amish has provided: PPC-CPA training.

And some new affiliates are going to make some serious coin from the Magic Bullet System.

Only problem with your theory on the network part of the launch is typically the people buying these are super noobs and take a TREMENDOUS amount of time to manage for an am with typically little return. However Amish is legit and they know their shit. No question, much better then any other system that most of these guru’s pitch. For the network compnent I think its a tough one cause of the noob factor but maybe this will attract more experienced people. We’ll see. Good luck guy

@Smaxor – you’ll have noobs buying courses and products no matter if your price point is $5 or a $250,000 Jay Abraham personal coaching program.

Like you mentioned, Amish is the real deal and I think the biggest issue is when a number of active affiliates starts using the system that increase competition within a set of offers.

Hi Andrew,

I believe your spot on with your analysis of the Magic-Bullet System.

However, you cannot say it is a bad idea what these 2 young Entrepreneurs are doing. In fact I have to take my hat off to them for leading the charge. At least this way, many rookies to the business will be able to learn the trade, quickly and efficiently, instead of secound guessing and losing money and in a time when the economy is bad and jobs are being outsourced, this option is more than a god send.

More power to them and lets see in the next 2 months if it works, as I’ve made an investment in the product myself and hope to gain some results.

Thanks for subject to light Andrew.
Cheers.

Nice to get a bit more of a tour on whats going on with this. I’ll still be surprised if they sell out the 500 seats as fast as they say it will go. Next question is how many stick around and don’t ask for a refund.

I am investing in this strictly to prove a point. With a “make 2x your money back in 6weeks or get your money back” policy. Why not? For those in the trenches automation is the key once you know what you are doing. I do think the newbies (the few that can afford this) will get run over by the veterans that pick this up and go full throttle with it. I ll let you know in 6mnths whether I have netted $6K or gotten a refund of $3K. Constant innovation and application is what makes small businesses large success’s and I know I have bought and applied 3 high cost prgs this last year and my return was 500% AND not everything was rosy with all the prgs I bought, BUT the amount that was. Made the difference between STILL being an affiliate marketer and looking for another job.

Automation is key, I paid the $3k because I already do cpa marketing anyway…The last time I spent my money on a high ticket item was to a couple of guys in diamond bar $5k dk & jimmy. We made six figures off their techniques..So give magic bullet a try.

The BIG problem here is that if you buy the system AMISH and his team have all your data. They can quickly sift through all the campaigns and pinpoint exactly which ones are working. That is a huge issue. I don’t trust them. Basically, anyone who buys is a guinea pig and they just went off and spent lots of money to test campaigns without AMISH and his people having to spend a dime. I’m surprised no one has brought this up on all the forums.

That’s true. Of course, they own an affiliate network, too. And most of the people signing up for his product will probably go with his network. So the same argument could be made there.

“He started a network so he could steal your data!”

If that’s the direction you want to go, then so did Smax0r, Ryan Eagle, Ruck and many, many others. I don’t buy that argument.

Enough people who don’t have a dog in this fight have vouched for Amish that those sorts of claims don’t hold water. For me, anyway.

(I’m still not buying it, however.)

First let me say the this is a well written post about the product. Good job:)

Next, I agree with Jeremy King’s comment. This is an open door for Amish and Jay to collect more information from successful affiliates. They can then run the campaigns on their own.

I did purchase the product with the sole purpose of getting a look at the inside of their system.

Unless something “Magic” happens I will be asking for a refund.

One thing to keep in mind, the system can be used to promote your own product, they can’t take that away. Unless they want to become your affiliate.

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the heads up and the thorough coverage you’ve provided about the Magic Bullet System.

Over the past week…..my email inbox has been blasted by many of the “gurus” endorsing Amish’ program during its’ prelaunch stage.

Obviously, because of its’ high ticket price – there’s a whole lot of commission bounty to be made by the JVs.

I’ve been in this industry full-time now for the past couple of years, and have just about become numb to all of the latest and greatest hyped up programs that seemingly come out every other week.

IMHO…… there is no such thing as a “Magic Bullet” when it comes to Internet marketing.

I agree with DK…… systems like this are aimed at newbies who don’t have a high enough level of understanding about the complexities of the IM industry, but whom will be the ones to gobble up the Magic Bullet program minutes after its’ release as if it were cotton candy.

Unfortunately though, I think that most of them will not get the results they’re seeking because of the huge learning curve involved with Internet Marketing, despite how well it may be presented.

Some people just aren’t cut out for this gig……

Holla,

Marv

Maybe it’s just me but anything about a ‘magic bullet’ related to internet marketing immediately throws up a red flag for me.

I agree with Jeremy, the fact that they’ve got all your data is a concern to me. I personally don’t like tracking systems that are hosted by someone else, call me paranoid but ppc and conversion data is priceless!

Also what a lot of newbies won’t understand is that you’ll need at least a few $thousand more to test campaigns out until you find one that’s profitable.

absolutely no way i would host my tracking on someone elses server. i don’t trust amish or jay as they have already renegged on there promise to not release the seminar footage (i’d be pissed if i’d paid $4k there). seriously good luck to them but i’ll keep my shit hosted on my servers.

What are you talking about? All attendees have access to a members area with online access to 20+ hours of the seminar footage? I have had access for months…

Thank you so much guys for your comments concerning this Magic Bullet System from those who are used to internet marketing. It is a great system from what I followed through with Amish’s videos but price tag is high for such software and the cash flow concern while testing the process made me wary. I will certainly weigh this one out for a good while still.

My e-mail inbox has also been flooded with messages regarding this Magic Bullet System. I have some basic knowledge of CPA, but am concerned about ongoing costs. I am going to try a less expensive avenue of getting involved with a CPA program. The posts I have found here have been helpful. Thank you. Cheers from lovely Canada.

The simple fact is that Frank Kern probably convinced him to charge people this crazy number for this. PEOPLE there are very good resources and step by step books and processes for less than 50 bucks that will teach you the same thing and very fast. Its not about the system because there are plenty of free products that do exactly what his does. What they dont teach you is all the inside information about how the CPA relationships work and how to advance that.

Karina, what resources and step by step books, etc. do you recommend for learning the in’s and out’s?

I didn’t get the program, but can’t fault some for doing so. From what I saw on the video, it looks similar to many currently-available tools, but they appear to be integrated.

Is this worth $3k? If you’re a noob with no knowledge of marketing but are looking for a work at home or escape your job opportunity, probably not.

If you are a person who is a decent marketer but not as gifted technologically, then perhaps so. This takes into account value of time, opportunity cost, stupid tax, etc.

I remember spending my first year and a half on the web trying to do everything for free, plus I didn’t know who to trust. There was no WF forum, or explosion of affiliate bloggers like diorex, Ruck & others who helped bend minds in a different direction without slagging every IM project out there.

That was something I regret, though it wasn’t like I made a mistake – just didn’t know.

So maybe people in the category I mentioned should consider getting on their waiting list. Most of the guys I see criticizing out-of-the-box solutions are justified in their claims, because there is no “magic bullet”.

But they also may be unjustified, because not everyone has unlimited time, unlimited finances, a technical background, or whatever I and some of the other even younger guys had when learning their trade.

btw, not sure where I come down on the “building a aff network off noobs” or the “they’re stealing data”. I don’t know Amish, but he appears to be a Ruck-like person in terms of sharing specifics, and just got into the Frank Kern crowd to bump sales. I could be totally wrong. What I’m saying is stealing data is pretty short-sighted and word gets around fast – “hey, I had this campaign smoking and now it’s all gone”. “hey, I did too”. (sound of 2 and 2 crashing together…)

Why they would take noobs and build a network, I have no clue. Maybe their system is good enough to squeeze out at least bottom feeders in many markets. Still a bunch out there with companies who have no clue how to market. If my google accounts hadn’t been killed, I would still be destroying those microniches myself.

why should they not charge a lot? shoot, if i had a system like that, i either wouldn’t sell it, or i would sell it for a lot.

duh.

we all would. lets not bs each other.

I believe the comments with the affiliate and backend thing…. all the offers in the system are run via their network, so they get a % of the action….

they train all these affiliates, maybe 10% do anything with it, and they get 50 or so really good affiliates.

bingo.

plus the monthly fees for the software (if any).

So many people commenting here about “noobs not being able to generate piss all income”. When really, it doesnt take much to teach someone PPC. Especially when you have a bunch of tools to help.

Sure alot of it is trial and error, and they wont be making 10k on the first day. But there is no reason why beginners cant become 4 figures a day in a very short time.

I’m one of the “noobs” this course is probably aimed at, and I also have a bad case of “what’s the next shiny course I can buy?”, but having read your comments and those of the other contributors, I’m delighted I resisted this time around and kept my credit card in my wallet!

An amazing number of courses have been launched over the past two weeks; think I’ll let the dust settle, wait for some real comment from real purchasers (not the vendors and their team of affiliates) and see what might really be worth investing in.

Somehow I don’t think that delaying a purchase for a month or three is going to make much difference to eventual success if this course (or any of the others being promoted so assiduously) are really worthwhile.

Well I bought in and thus far I can say this. The training has been slow and drawn out. I do feel like things are being stretched out just to push everyone beyond the refund date before truly knowing what the system can do.

“Screw the training and just dive into the system”. Not possible as the system is locked down and being drip fed at a painfully slow module per week.

I have no doubt that the MBS will kick butt and be a very worthwhile investment. However 3 weeks in and no-one but Amish, Jay and the gang have made any money with MBS.

And still at least another week before members can launch a campaign.

I have many friends that bought into the hype and not one of them is happy about it. I think Amish my hurt his reputation with this launch. And I really don’t buy the whole prequalification for a CPA network bit… this is exactly what they said about Garbitrage Conspiracy as well.

I bought it.

It was the worst thing ever as far as function.

The automation was a joke. ( you could not see cost and you had to hand code landing pages for the semi-automation to work. which was auto-blogging that stopped working and got you google slapped)

the problems were so many it looked very much like we paid $3K to be beta-testors.

I stayed in tell the very end and got my money back.

I found out later that his was Amish way to make back what all he had lost in CPA since the rules had changed and his flogs and farticle empire crashed.

Too bad. I once trusted him and jay. Now they are not the Tony Robbins of IM but the James Ray and Jim Jones of IM.

Well, I purchase the Bullet also

I felt like a Beta-Tester also, in the beginning there were plenty of errors.
and every week they would show up with lessons on how to use the application.
They made adjustments however, after paying 3k I felt like we were being treated like children.

Eventually, I got laid off work and wasn’t really able to test the application out through lack of funds. The Bullet really didn’t work for me and I’m desperately in need of a refund.

I really won’t be working with these guys again, unless they can provide a refund. – I got shot with the Bullet!!!
