Allen Says’ MyWarriorNetwork Launched

I got an email from fellow Internet Marketer Steven Wong with an invitation to join the My Warrior Network.

Huh?

If you’re familiar with the Warrior Forum, a credible source of Internet Marketing information and the brainchild of IM guru Allen Says, Warrior Network seems to be a brand extension of that.

Although the marketing material states the benefits include:

  • Find someone you know who works for a particular company or in a certain industry
  • Find old friends and work colleagues
  • Buy and sell products and services or get advice and recommendations
  • Get credible introductions to decision makers through your new contacts
  • Publicize and find forthcoming Business and Social Events
  • Get referrals for new jobs or hard to find staff

I doubt there might be too much B2B or traditional brick-and-mortar business matchmaking there.

But I feel it’ll be a great community building site for those active or new to the warriors forum. Continue reading

Clickbank Transaction Analytics Beta Launched

I was a little upset with affiliate network Clickbank yesterday.

For one, I knew a transaction had been processed, but it hadn’t appeared in my sales screen.

I checked with the content publisher and they confirmed it appeared on their screen.

So why hadn’t it appeared on my screen?

9Rules Round 5 Community Update

Fresh off the press, 9rules Community Director Tyme White announced in the 9Rules blog this morning: Round 5 Update

I’m more than 3/4 through the list (first pass). That’s when I bumped into some serious organization problems. What worked with 700 sites doesn’t work with 1191 so…thanks to Scrivs helping me out today, Tyme is more organized.

My goal is to finish the first pass this weekend, start the second pass (smaller) by Tues.

It certainly is a mammoth task sifting through 1191 blog entries, especially since the near doubling of entries since the last round. Continue reading

How a Pingback Led Me to Guy Kawasaki

Here’s an example of viral traffic generation.

I was reading Shoemoney’s post on Las Vegas Pubcon 2006 and in his comments, I see the following:

Shoemoney Pingback

That was a pingback from Lee Odden blog.

Lee is CEO of TopRank Online Marketing and has a widely read, high traffic, high PR blog.

It caught my eye like Seth Godin’s archetypal “Purple Cow” (which stands out from the herd of brown cows).

10 Ways to a Killer Blog Part 2

If you missed the first part of this series, visit: 10 Ways to a Killer Blog Part 1.

As you’re developing your blog and working towards the upper echelons of the bloggerati, consider the following factors which Robert and Maryam Scoble presented at the recent Blog Business Summit.

Killer Blog

The logic behind linking to other blogs is that if you’re a genuine content blog, it’s likely the blogger will link back. And you’ll see link love in action as traffic flows back and forth between the two blogs.

It helps to link to credible blogs within your space, and to a blogger you’re regularly reading.

It can be a vicious cycle of kindness if you make it so. Continue reading

Killer WordPress Plugins Part 1

Here’s an extension of my earlier traffic generation post and I’ll go through some of the plugins I use on this blog.

Used correctly, you will rank highly on the blog directories and aggregators like Technorati and bloglines, and the results pages on the trinity of search engines (Google, Yahoo! and MSN Search or Live.com).

Here’re five of my favourite WordPress plugins:
